Prometheus 2.20.0 is now out, following on from 2.19.0 with many fixes and improvements.

WAL compression mentioned briefly in previous post is now enabled by default, some saving disk space and iops for a small CPU cost. There's also been performance improvements to regex matchers.

PromQL gained a group() aggregator, which can be used to make certain queries more readable.

There's two new service discoveries, Docker Swarm and DigitalOcean. Openstack SD can now also query alternative endpoints, and EC2 has additional AMI metadata.

Remote read metrics have been improved, as have some aspects of the UI.

There’s also a number of improvements, bug fixes and other changes, see the release notes for more detail.
