Prometheus 2.13.0 is now out, following on from 2.12.0 with many fixes and improvements.

This release is fairly small again. The tsdb utility has been included in this release, however note that it'll likely be subsumed into promtool by 2.14.0.

The prometheus_sd_configs_failed_total counter has been replaced by the prometheus_sd_failed_configs gauge.

There have been performance improvements to remote read and remote write. The remote read improvements are mainly of use to Thanos users, as they allow pulling whole chunks rather than sample by sample. Remote write also has a few new metrics for its queue manager.

The expression browser will now show warnings it receives from the query API. Promtool metrics linting has some new warnings, and improved error messages for bad rules.

There’s also a number of improvements, bug fixes and other changes, see the release notes for more detail.
